Your child must be four years of age or older to begin the 2010 swim program.
If in doubt as to which class you should place your child in, I almost always advise placement in the lower level. When they feel confident, I see improvement faster. If you are unsure of which class is best for you child, please call me and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

Level 1
- This class is for children who have not experienced the water without using floatation devices. This class will cover introduction to the water, face under water, correct breathing, front and back kicking, and floating.
Level 1+
- This class is for children who have had level 1 or a similar swim class, who open their eyes under water, and who can float on their tummy and back without help. In this class the children will focus on gaining confidence to swim independently and the full freestyle stroke (arms and legs).
Level 2
- This class is for children who are able to swim 5-10 feet independently. In this class we will build endurance and begin rotary breathing while refining the freestyle, backstroke, and elementary backstroke.
Level 3
- This class is for children who are able to swim 15-20 feet of the freestyle stroke independently. We will continue to build endurance while working on the four major strokes. The children will go to a deep-water pool and be introduced to diving and treading water. This class will be at the Lavergne High School Pool.
Level 4
- This class is for children whohave completed the C ME SWIM Level 3 swim class or can swim the freestyle stroke 25 feet. Level 4 will include racing stroke techniques, endurance, diving, and deep water life saving techniques. This class will be at the Lavergne High School Pool.
